  • Please Note: Some insurance companies may not cover all of the cost for an appointment. If there is a balance due after a claim is submitted, you will receive an email and invoice from our billing team at billing@azbreastfeedingcenter.com.

    Aetna and Banner Aetna:

    We are preferred providers for Aetna and can bill directly for lactation consultations for most Aetna and Banner Aetna subscribers. However, check with your insurance carrier before your visit to verify your benefits and ensure we are in-network for your particular plan. NOTE: We no longer accept Meritain Health, a subsidiary of the Aetna Network.

    AHCCCS Plans:

    AHCCCS does not currently cover lactation support services. However, we do have low-cost visits available for AHCCCS members. Please choose “AHCCCS/WIC Low Cost Visit” when scheduling.

    United Healthcare PPO:

    We use The Lactation Network to bill your insurance. Most families are eligible for at least six visits. To qualify, please complete their intake form. Choose: “ I already have an IBCLC that I’d like to be paired with” and enter Arizona Breastfeeding Center. We should hear back on coverage by the next business day. NOTE:United Community Healthcare Plans are AHCCCS plans, and they do not cover lactation support services. However, we do have low-cost visits available for AHCCCS members. Please choose “AHCCCS/WIC Low Cost Visit” when scheduling.

    Cigna:

    We use Wildflower Health to bill your insurance. Most families are eligible for at least six visits. To qualify, please complete their intake form.

    Other Insurance Providers:

    We accept HSA and FSA cards and will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • We only bill primary insurance and do not submit claims to secondary insurance providers. If you have secondary insurance, you may be able to submit a claim independently for potential reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for details on coverage.

  • We offer a range of lactation consultations to support you at every stage:

    • Prenatal – For expectant parents preparing to breastfeed. We'll create a personalized plan and cover techniques, positioning, and milk production.

    • Initial – For new patients or those with a new baby. Includes a full assessment and individualized care plan.

    • Follow-Up – For current patients needing ongoing support. Ideal for checking progress, addressing new concerns, or adjusting your care plan.

    • Back to Work – Tailored guidance to help you maintain breastfeeding while transitioning back to work.

    • Introducing Solids – For parents of babies 4–6 months old. Covers readiness signs, first foods, introducing a cup, and balancing solids with breastfeeding.

  • Absolutely! You're welcome to bring a support person to your consultation. Having someone there can be a great help, especially when practicing the techniques together at home.
